Registry Rewards From Target

When you get engaged, a lot of brands and businesses want to court you.

It's not because you're off the market (although that seems to be the case with men, right? Once you're in a relationship, it's like they know and they come swarming).

Brands, well, they want your business. With weddings, a lot of money is circulated. From you paying vendors to your guests buying gifts, there are a lot of places that can really stand to benefit from you getting married.

You can definitely use this to your advantage and score a few perks. If you have two florists courting you, you can negotiate deals. Ask if you can get your bridal bouquet for free if you buy them for your large wedding party. Explain that you have a second vendor who is willing to work with you and you better believe the first vendor will negotiate. The florist would rather lose a couple hundred bucks off your total than lose your entire total.

Stores are the same way. They want you to register there so all your guests will spend their money there. So they offer you a few perks. Target is the latest store I found to throw themselves into the mix.

Planning on creating a Target Wedding Registry? You could get a $20 gift card! Details about this and other registries at www.abrideonabudget.com.

Target Registry Rewards

Target often sends future brides a card for a free $20 Target gift card when you start a wedding registry with 10 or more items. You can also get 10% off any items that weren't purchased on your registry after your reception.

Plus, Target is really budget friendly, so if you don't feel like putting a $499 knife set on your registry to sit there and take up space (because $500 knives? Ain't nobody buying that), Target is a good option.

If you need a few ideas, we actually wrote serveral posts about Target's wedding registry:

But, if you're looking for big ticket items as a thank you for creating a registry, this $20 might not entice you. Don't worry. We have registries covered here at A Bride On A Budget. All you need to do is check out our lists of them below.

  1. I love Target, but for a registry I decided to go with Bed Bath and Beyond. But what's to stop me from signing up for a registry and just not telling anyone about it? Do I still get the card? If it enters me into a sweepstakes or gets me a gift card, I'll do it.

  3. We had a Bed Bath Beyond, Target and Macy's registry but we only told people about the Bed Bath and Beyond and Target ones. Each store gave us stuff. I think at the time it was shutterfly gift cards

    1. This post is only three weeks old, so yes, Target still does this. You do, however, need to receive the card in the mail and then bring it to customer service and create a new registry. Since you already did it online, it doesn't seem as if you would qualify anymore since it is for new registries only.

    3. I don't know because I got mine from a friend, however, you should try to contact Target's customer service here -- http://www.target.com/HelpContent?help=/sites/html/TargetOnline/help/contact_us/contact_us.html&lnk=fnav_t_spc_1_26 -- and I'm sure they can help you.

  5. I registered at Target and received the gift card. I also learned the 10% off after your wedding is sent like a month later and is valid on 1 in-store purchase and 1 online purchase. I also added more items to my registry after the wedding so I could get them online for the discount (and free shipping with $50+ purchase). All the places I registered offered a discount to items left on registry, but some of the discount cards could be used multiple times within a time frame and some were for a one-time use!

    1. Hi Brennan, I was wondering if you received the card instantly or if it was sent to you by mail?

I received the offer for the gift card in the mail and I see that I must create the registry in store. One the registry is created, will Target immediately distribute the card?

Does the card have to be used on registry items?

      Thanks!

  6. Do I get the gift card the same day as I register at the store or do I have to do it online?

    1. Bring the card from the mailer with you to the store and take it to customer service. They will give you the gift card the same day you create your registry.
