DIY: Candy Bag Favors (Arts & Crafts Tutorial)

Pete and I went to a bridal expo today and one of the vendors gave out these cute candy bag favors.

Okay, not exactly these. They didn't have "L&P" on them, obviously. They said WCC (which is on the backside of the card if you want to know the truth). I liked the favor so much that I deconstructed it and put it back together for this tutorial.

You'll need:
Jelly beans (in two colors)
M&Ms (in one color) -- I'm gonna suggest that you pick up the candy in your wedding colors
A small mesh bag (you can purchase it at Oriental Trading)
A piece of paper (or cardstock)

Fill the bag with the M&Ms.

Top it with jelly beans.

Top it with a second color of jelly beans.

Now, I just deconstructed the one I was given. I didn't run out for jelly beans and M&Ms or anything. But, what I would have done if I did run out for supplies, is I would have gotten three elements of the same color, but different shades so that when you layer them, you get the ombre look that's so hot right now. Seriously, everything from hair to candy is getting the ombre touch.

Make a card from paper or cardstock, punch a hole in it, and write whatever you'd like, You can print it too if you're feeling fancy. Some ideas are your initials, your wedding date, the words thank you. The possibilities are only limited by the size of your card.

BRIDAL BABBLE: What would you write on the tag if you were making these?

  1. I would design cards to print that matched the design of the invitations. This is a very lovely and simple craft that anyone could do. It just goes to show that the favors don't need to be expensive in order to be beautiful. :)
