Homemade Teriyaki Sauce Wedding Favor

If you love this recipe, be sure to Yum it here: Yum

I love food. And eating. And I'm starting to really like cooking. I used to "put stuff together" more than I would actually cook. I would open packages, open sauces, heat them up together, and that was cooking to me.

Now, things are different. I know a lot about spices and what goes together. And I'm a big fan of making my own sauces. I know exactly what goes in them, and I don't fill them with chemicals. Plus, things you make yourself just taste better.

Homemade Teriyaki Sauce Wedding Favor

If you have a favorite sauce, it would make a really good wedding favor. My favorite is teriyaki sauce. It's pretty simple to make and it's really universal. Everyone I know has heard of chicken teriyaki. Of course, I'm Japanese, so that helps. You should definitely try and pick a sauce that has meaning to you, or maybe just one that you like. If you want to try teriyaki sauce, follow my recipe below.

What You'll Need:

  • Mini milk bottles
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 2 inches fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

Peel and chop the garlic and ginger. You want to chop them down as small as possible, so something like a grater may help.

Add these into a large bowl. Pour in the honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Stir until it is combined.

Using a small funnel, pour the teriyaki sauce into mini milk bottles.

Add a thank you tag, if you choose, or a recipe to use the teriyaki sauce with.

This will actually last a very long time in the fridge, so you can make these during wedding week and they will still be okay to use as favors during your wedding.

Just be careful when you're transporting them. The mini milk bottles I used have a cork top that sticks into the bottle. It doesn't make a vacuum seal, so if these turn upside down or sideways, they may leak.
